ET361 · Single-Phase Transformers

Experimental Apparatus for the Study of Single-Phase Transformers

A modular apparatus for the study of a compensated single-phase 230 V transformer with three secondary windings. A variable autotransformer feeds the primary and two variable rheostats load the secondaries. Nine digital display modules show voltage, current and power on the primary and on the secondaries at the same time, so the student runs the no-load, short-circuit and load tests on one panel and reads every value directly.
Description
The ET361 is built from panel modules on a mobile frame with a single-phase power console. The variable autotransformer module sets the primary voltage between 0 and 250 V AC. The 140 VA single-phase transformer module has a 230 V primary winding, one 15 V / 3.6 A secondary and two separate 12 V / 3.6 A secondaries, each behind its own fuse. Three digital display modules each for voltage, current and power measure the primary and the secondary circuits. Two variable rheostat modules, 0…22 Ω and 0…3.3 Ω, load the transformer. Students connect the circuits with safety leads on 4 mm sockets.
