ET345 · Measuring Waves & Radiation: Optical and Acoustic Card

Measuring Waves & Radiation: Optical and Acoustic Card

A comprehensive course package for the ET platform: hands-on exploration of optical and acoustic wave measurement using industrial-standard sensors. This unified module features both the Optical Card and the Acoustic Card, powered and monitored by the ET300 base system, complete with guided multimedia courseware for the study of light and sound.
Experiments
  • Optical Studies: Measurement of light intensity using a Photoconductive Cell (LDR), Photovoltaic Cell, P.I.N. Photodiode, and a Phototransistor
  • Acoustic Studies: Sound detection using a Dynamic Microphone, and high-frequency wave generation/reception using Ultrasonic Transmitters and Receivers
  • Analysis: Comparative analysis of sensor spectral response, sensitivity, and frequency response
  • Calibration: Calibration of optical and acoustic measurement chains
ET345 Optical and Acoustic experiment cards
Description
The platform teaches the fundamentals of measuring light and sound waves through guided, hands-on experiments.
  • The Optical Card carries an integrated filament lamp alongside four distinct optical sensors, allowing students to safely generate controlled light environments and observe optoelectronic behavior.
  • The Acoustic Card features a dynamic microphone, ultrasonic devices, and a loudspeaker, allowing students to safely observe real-world sound waves and high-frequency acoustic signals in real time.
  • Accessible measuring points on both cards expose the raw inputs and outputs of each device. These are acquired and displayed by the base system's virtual instruments, allowing for a direct, side-by-side comparison of different wave-based measurement technologies.
Courseware
The interactive multimedia course combines theory with guided experiments: principles of photoconductivity, photovoltaic effects, piezoelectricity, and sound wave propagation. Student answers are evaluated automatically, and the full course—at least 8 hours of directed instruction (4 hours per card)—is available with multi-language support.
Scope of Delivery
  • 1x Optical experiment card with integrated lamp and sensors
  • 1x Acoustic experiment card with integrated devices
  • Storage case(s)
  • Multimedia course software with course browser
  • Connection cables
