ET321 · Measurements with the Multimeter

Experimental Platform for Electrical Measurements with the Multimeter

A course package pairing a professional-grade digital multimeter with an experiment card and guided exercises that build correct, safe electrical measurement practice - from range selection to the diagnosis of unknown components.
Experiments
  • Controls and operation of the digital multimeter
  • Identifying potential hazards in measurements on electrical circuits
  • Measuring DC and AC voltages
  • Measuring DC and AC currents - correct series connection
  • Measuring resistance, continuity and diode testing
  • Measurements using contact and balance methods
  • Matching the measuring range and identifying common measurement errors
  • Identifying unknown components in a circuit by voltage and current measurement
ET321 experiment card
Description
The platform builds correct multimeter practice from the ground up. An experiment card provides circuits for measuring current, voltage and resistance, plus a dedicated diagnosis circuit with unknown components that students identify through systematic voltage and current measurements. The included instrument is a real professional-grade digital multimeter - not a simulation - with a 3¾-digit backlit bar-graph display and CAT II 1000 V safety rating. An infrared interface couples the multimeter into the training system, so its readings appear alongside the virtual instruments of the ET300 base system and can be logged and evaluated in the courseware.
Courseware
The interactive multimedia course - at least 3 hours of directed instruction - covers instrument controls, measurement safety, range selection, contact and balance measurement methods, and the interpretation of measurement errors and accuracy. Exercises are evaluated automatically, and the course is available with Romanian-language support.
