For more than two decades we have designed and built one-of-a-kind wind tunnels, physical hydraulic models, heat-transfer laboratories and custom experimental apparatus for universities and research institutes - engineered in Romania, delivered worldwide.   1. A global idea, born in England

    The international Sangari group is founded in the United Kingdom with a single focus: improving education around the world through science. Over the decades it grows into a network spanning 15 countries across five continents.

  2. Sangari comes to Romania

    Sangari Engineering Services (Romania) is established by COMPETE Ltd. (Consortium of Manufacturers Producing Educational and Technological Equipment) of Cambridge, UK, as part of that international network - and becomes the longest-standing company of its kind on the Romanian market.

  3. R.U.M.P. - equipping a generation

    Sangari becomes the first private entity to initiate a national program to equip higher education with teaching and research equipment - the Romanian Universities Modernization Project, approved by Government Decision on 21 December 2000.

  4. Research builds a country

    From the very beginning we understood that research drives a nation’s long-term development - and that Romania’s potential in this field is extraordinary. We chose to back it for the long run, with one-of-a-kind experimental models and constructive solutions tailored to each project.

  5. National Consortium for the Study of Cavitation

    We join a national consortium uniting research teams from major centres: Politehnica Bucharest, the Technical University of Civil Engineering Bucharest, Politehnica Timișoara, the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca and "Gheorghe Asachi" Iași. Along the way we collaborated on two specialist studies published by "Orizonturi Universitare" in Timișoara.

  6. Hosting the world of hydraulics

    On 24–26 October 2007 Sangari sponsors and takes part in the International Association of Hydraulic Engineering and Research (IAHR) conference in Timișoara - host to researchers from all five continents.

  7. RoAdaptech - turning Romanian research into equipment

    In February 2010 Sangari signs a financing contract under the EU Operational Programme "Increase of Economic Competitiveness" (ERDF, Priority Axis 2, Operation 2.3.3 - Promoting innovation in enterprises). The €/2.32M-lei project (2010–2013) builds bespoke experimental apparatus and scale models that turn the results of Romanian research into teaching and research equipment.

  8. RoAdaptech strengthened our in-house research-development-innovation team and deepened ties with universities and the scientific diaspora, while securing full membership in international bodies such as WorldDidac and COMPETE. Many of the experimental apparatus below were born from it.

  15. A controlled pressure vessel for studying anaerobic digestion - how micro-organisms break down organic matter without oxygen, producing biogas in the process.

For the Wind Engineering Laboratory at the Technical University of Civil Engineering Bucharest, we modernized the aerodynamic tunnel with a system that reconfigures floor roughness and turbulence generators centrally and instantaneously - letting researchers recreate different atmospheric boundary layers on demand.

  19. A reduced-scale physical model of a complex hydraulic node, built to validate numerical models through real measurements - the kind of hands-on verification that pure simulation cannot replace.

  20. Instrumentation and monitoring for two hydropower plants, bringing live insight into how these large hydraulic systems behave in operation.

  21. A test basin for studying ship hulls - letting naval-architecture researchers measure resistance and behaviour of hull forms in water.

Built with the University of Bucharest, this temporary exhibition invited visitors to manipulate educational platforms and watch the results - from simple natural phenomena, to human-made conditions, to complex applications. It championed experiment-based education as the foundation of the scientific method, presenting core ideas in an accessible, captivating way.

  24. For a UTCB project, we built the experimental model used to improve the sludge-dewatering environment at the Glina wastewater treatment plant by optimizing the capture and treatment of local effluents - a reduced-scale rig, by similitude, to validate the numerical models.
