Experimental Apparatus for the Study of Faults in Asynchronous Motors
A kit on wheels for the study of the faults that most often stop a three-phase squirrel-cage asynchronous motor with brake. It has two units, a diagnosis panel for the student and a control
panel for the teacher, plus the motor and its braking system. The teacher sets a fault. The student finds it by measurement and safety testing.
Description
The ET521 puts a squirrel-cage asynchronous motor, a brake and two panel units on one frame with wheels. From the lockable control panel the teacher switches faults into the motor
windings and into the brake circuit without tools, and the student cannot see which one is active. The student starts the motor from the diagnosis panel, which brings out every
measurement point, and locates the fault by voltage, current, continuity and insulation measurements. The apparatus plugs into the 400 V three-phase mains with a Hypra plug on a
5 m cable. An isolating transformer and a 30 mA residual current device protect the student during every measurement.
