Frequently asked questions

The platform

What is the Sangari eLearning platform?

It is the whole system that guides students through an experiment.

It starts with the apparatus. The electronics in it measure the experiment and control it.

The apparatus connects to the app on your computer. The app shows the live data, does the calculations and exports the results.

The didactic material guides students through each experiment.

When it is connected to the internet, the apparatus can send its readings online, so the whole classroom can take part in real time.

What training material comes with the equipment?

Each apparatus comes with its own Student's Handbook. It is a complete course for that apparatus. It covers the theory, the safety rules, how the apparatus works, how to run each experiment and how to analyse the results.

The same material is also in the app, as interactive eLearning that guides students through the experiments.

What about apparatus without electronic sensors?

You read the gauges and type the values into the app. The app does the rest, as it does for measured readings: calculations, charts and export.

The app

What do I need to run the app?

A computer with Windows, macOS or Linux, or an Android tablet. To connect an apparatus by cable, you also need a USB port.

How many computers can I install it on?

As many as you like.

Do I need to update the software?

No. Updates are optional and free. The version you receive keeps working as it is.

What languages are available?

English and Romanian are included as standard. We are working on more languages.

How it communicates

How do readings get from the apparatus to the app?

Over a USB cable. The data goes straight to your computer.

Can the apparatus connect to a network?

Yes. Several people can then watch the same experiment from their own computers.

How do I know the connection works?

Look at the link indicator in the app. Green means readings are arriving. Amber means they stopped recently. Red means the connection is lost.

Offline and online

Do I need an internet connection?

Normal operation does not need the internet. That includes real-time data acquisition and control, live charts and graphs, calculations and CSV export.

You only need an internet connection if you want students to see the readings online.

What happens if the internet drops during an experiment?

Nothing changes for the experiment. As explained above, you only need the internet to share the readings with students online.

Where is my data?

On your computer, in the app. You can export it to a CSV file.

Does my data go to the cloud?

Only if you choose to send it. Everything works without it.

Licence and cost

Do I pay for a licence or a subscription?

No. The software comes with the apparatus. There are no extra fees.

How long is the licence valid?

Without a time limit. It needs no activation and no online check.

How many users can there be?

As many as you need.

Does the cloud cost extra?

No. It is included with the apparatus.

If something goes wrong

What if the app does not find the apparatus?

Check that the cable is plugged in at both ends. Some cables only charge and cannot carry data, so try another one. Then choose the apparatus from the list.

My spreadsheet shows wrong numbers after opening the file. What do I do?

Import the file instead of double-clicking it. In the import dialogue, set the decimal separator to a full stop.
